Évian-les-Bains, often just called Évian, is a town in the north of the Haute-Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of south-eastern France. A high-end holiday resort and spa town on the shores of Lake Geneva, it has, over the past two centuries, attracted royalty such as Kings Edward VII and George V of the United Kingdom and King Farouk of Egypt, as well as well-known cultural figures including Countess Anna de Noailles and Marcel Proust.
